MOBILITY

A girl rides her red tricycle, and she is laughing. A wide trunk belt and a webbing lap belt hold her securely against a back support attached to the trike. Straps keep her feet securely on the pedals. An adult hand holds a metal stick with a red grip attached to the back of the trike.

“Hannah’s tricycle adaptation allows her to explore her environment just as any three-year-old would.  At the same time, people passing on the street are drawn to interact with her, which is crucial for a non-ambulatory child.  The first time she rode her tricycle was the most exciting day for BOTH of us since she had rolled over two years before.”                              Tracy Erlich, parent

Essential Question:

What array of adaptations will ensure that a child can move, fully engage, and learn in all activities throughout the day?
