BECOME A VOLUNTEER

ADA counts on dedicated volunteers with expertise in fabrication and administration. If you are available during ADA's regular business hours to share your skills and talents with us please review our volunteer opportunities below and complete our online application.

PROFESSIONAL

ADA welcomes current and retired professionals with backgrounds in engineering, design, fabrication, carpentry, sewing, photography, crafting, therapy, and education. ADA professional volunteers bring a level of expertise in a particular area of practice.

If you do not have a particular area of expertise but would like to volunteer in the workshop we encourage you to take a course with us prior to volunteering.

ARTIST

ADA offers workshops for artists in the community looking to give back through their art. Our Artists in Action paint and edge the equipment that is built by our fabricators for ADA kids.

CORPORATE

You and your colleagues can impact the lives of children in NYC by participating in one of Adaptive Design’s volunteer programs. We will engage your colleagues in team building activities including the building and finishing of equipment for children with disabilities and their classmates. We offer corporate volunteer and team building programs at our workshop in midtown. No special training or background is necessary. Please keep in mind that we have flexibility to customize a program to meet the specific needs of your group.

SPECIAL EVENT

Throughout the year ADA welcomes volunteers to participate in monthly or annual events at our workshop that extend beyond regular business hours. This is a great opportunity for a volunteer who would like to stay engaged but is unable to commit to a weekly volunteer schedule.
