​Creating user-specific adaptations is a great joy, and the process from assessment to the finishing touches can be life-changing for everyone involved: those inspiring and receiving adaptations (the “users”), those who imagine and request adaptations (the “dreamers”), and those who design and build adaptations (the “makers”).
LEARNING LIBRARY
​Creating custom adaptations is also a great responsibility. In our effort to ensure high quality and avoid mistakes, we embrace Six Principles of Fabrication and recommend that adaptive designers and fabricators follow them carefully.

Before a device is used, the team must agree that the adaptation is:
1) safe
2) needed
3) wanted by the user and the team
4) attractive
5) durable
6) made with materials that are eco-responsible, locally available, and cost little or nothing
The resources in this Learning Library are not intended as standalone instruction in cardboard carpentry for a novice. To become a maker, a beginner benefits from face-to-face demonstration, ongoing instruction, plus plenty of practice over a significant period of time.

These 33 videos are great as a glance at what to expect if you're thinking of taking a course. Even better, they're a good review or reference afterward. They briefly demonstrate individual techniques visually, but, by themselves, can't explain when to employ them, nor how to design or assemble adaptations.
